Image Wear donates brand-new collection to the Kiwanis Club Küsnacht

The Kiwanis Club Küsnacht has collected an impressive 724 kilograms of clothes and shoes over the past few weeks as part of the international Kiwanis collection campaign. In order to transport the 724 kilograms of clothes and shoes, the driver entrusted with the removal had to use all his logistical skills to fit all the (compostable) bags and the boxes of brand-new collection items donated by the textile company Image Wear (run by CEO and Kiwanian Patrice Weber) into his van. In the end, the van was literally full to the brim. With this great collection success, the expectations of the president of KC Küsnacht, Corinne Wyer, were clearly exceeded. “I would like to thank all Kiwanians and their families, friends and acquaintances who made this fantastic result possible,” she said at the closing event, which was rounded off with a drinks reception hosted by Patrice Weber at his offices in Zurich.

A total of 23 tons

So far, 3566 bags containing 23 tons of clothing have been collected in the entire Switzerland-Liechtenstein district. The proceeds of 50 centimes per kilo will go 60 percent to the social fund of the organizing club and 40 percent to the (Zewo-certified) Kiwanis Foundation District Switzerland-Liechtenstein and will be used for charitable purposes at home and abroad. Even more important than the amount collected, however, is the fact that the collected goods are delivered in a controlled manner to second-hand stores in Eastern Europe, where they are offered to less well-off people at very reasonable prices and can thus be put to further useful use.
